About 1 yr ago('08) Fred noticed a lump behind his right ear. He didn't have any symptoms with it, so we weren't real alarmed. Then about 10 months ago another lump appeared, it was a lot the same in that he had no symptoms with it. Well, long story short, he got tired of people being startled by the appearance of this lump and decided he would have it removed. So after a CT scan, FNA (Biopsy), PET/CT scan, and MRI, the Doctors in Springfield determined that he had Small Cell Undifferentiated Carcinoma of the Parotid gland. The Dr's spoke of surgery, chemo and radiation. The later two of which Fred wanted nothing to do with if it was used in the typical way, so we began a search for other options. However, he still thought that he would probably have the surgery. Several we knew of had gone to Rubio Cancer Center in Mexico so we contacted Dr. Rubio to have him explain what exactly his protocol involved. After hearing his plan to work with Fred's immune system to fight the cancer, the Lord gently changed Fred's heart to desire to go to Mexico. My prayer had been that if God would change Fred's mind, I could be at peace knowing it was HIS will to go. Please keep us in your prayers.
